Planning Your Experience
A thoughtful guide to the Nashville Songwriter Experience — from group sizes and custom events to recordings and what to expect.
The Songwriter Experience
Do I need musical experience?
Not at all. The Nashville Songwriter Experience is designed for all levels of experience — from visitors simply looking for a meaningful Nashville experience to aspiring songwriters and seasoned creatives who have been developing their craft for years. Whether this is your first time writing a song or you’re actively pursuing songwriting professionally, the experience is designed to meet you where you are creatively.
What should I bring to the session?
You don’t need to bring anything unless there’s a specific instrument or idea you’d like to incorporate. A piano or keyboard, and guitars are available during the session, and many guests simply arrive ready to create. If you already have lyric ideas, melodies, or concepts in mind, I love building from those starting points together.
Where are the sessions held?
Most songwriter sessions take place in my home in Nashville — a comfortable, relaxed space intentionally designed to encourage creativity, connection, and collaboration.
Can someone attend as an observer?
Yes. If someone would like to sit in and observe the session without actively participating, an additional observer fee can be added to the booking.
Is there an age limit?
No — songwriting is for everyone. As a mom myself, I especially love working with kids and families, and I’ve found creativity has no age requirement.
Recordings & Enhancements
What is the Enhanced Recording?
The Enhanced Recording is an optional add-on that transforms your song into a more fully produced keepsake after the session. Production style can vary depending on the song and vision, creating a polished version you can revisit and share long after the experience.
When will I receive my Enhanced Recording?
Enhanced Recordings are typically delivered within about a week of your session, though many are completed sooner depending on scheduling and the scope of the project. After the session, we’ll usually discuss the creative direction of the recording together. While it’s never required, I always appreciate any notes, references, or ideas guests may have about the overall feel, production style, or emotional direction they envision for the song.
Corporate & Team Events
What types of corporate events work well for this experience?
These experiences are designed for retreats, leadership offsites, conferences, incentive trips, celebrations, and creative team-building events.
Do participants need musical experience?
Not at all. The experience is designed for all backgrounds and focuses on creativity, collaboration, and connection.
Can events happen outside Nashville?
Yes. Select experiences can be designed for on-site events, destination retreats, and conferences outside Nashville.
How large can corporate groups be?
Experiences can be customized for both smaller collaborative groups and larger conference-style events depending on your goals and format.
Can experiences be customized for our team or event?
Absolutely. Experiences can be thoughtfully customized around your group, goals, and overall vision — from intimate leadership retreats to larger conference activations and immersive Nashville experiences. Through select creative and hospitality partnerships, additional enhancements may also be available depending on the event, including curated venues, live music elements, catering, outdoor activities, and other personalized touches designed to create a more memorable experience.
